The bare Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) is a fundamental passive component whose electrical resistance decreases as ambient light intensity increases. Unlike pre-built sensor modules, this standalone component requires students to construct their own voltage divider circuit using an external fixed resistor, providing a highly practical lesson in analogue signal conditioning and Ohm’s law.
